Chip functions NTAG215 is developed by NXP Semiconductors as a standard NFC tag intended for use in mass-market applications such as retail, gaming, and consumer electronics, in combination with proximity NFC devices. NTAG215 is designed to fully comply with NFC Forum Type 2 Tag specifications (Ref. 2) and ISO/IEC14443 Type A (Ref. 1) specifications. The internal memory is preformatted according to the NFC standard to accommodate NDEF messages. Reference applications include out-of-home and smart advertising, SoLoMo social applications, product authentication, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi pairing, NFC shelf labels, and mobile tags. The NTAG215 memory can also be segmented to implement multiple applications within the same tag. Thanks to high integration, NTAG215 is particularly suitable for applications that require small surfaces without compromising performance. Small NFC tags can be easily integrated, for example, into product labels or electronic devices. Communication with the NTAG215 tag is established by connecting to an antenna. When NTAG215 is in the RF field, the high-speed RF communication interface allows data transmission at a speed of 106 kbit/s. The maximum communication distance, depending on the antenna geometry, can reach up to 10 cm. The unique chip identification is achieved through a 7-byte UID. The internal EEPROM memory of 540 bytes is organized into 135 pages of 4 bytes each, with 126 pages equating to 504 bytes available for user data read and write, and it can be rewritten up to 100,000 times while retaining data for up to 10 years.
