Chip functions The G2XL chip is suitable for passive use in smart tags and labels that comply with the EPCglobal Class 1 Generation 2 UHF RFID standard. It is particularly well-suited for environments where long reading distances are required. Its contactless interface generates current through the antenna circuit using the transmitted energy from the reader, while the system clock is generated by an oscillator integrated into the chip. The data transmitted from the reader to the tag/label is demodulated by the interface, which also modulates the reader's electromagnetic field for data transmission. The tag/label can be used without the need for a battery or visual contact, as long as it is connected to a dedicated antenna. When the tag/label is within the reader's range, the high-speed wireless interface enables data transmission in both directions.
