Chip functions NTAG213 is developed by NXP Semiconductors as a standard NFC tag for use in mass-market applications such as retail, gaming, and consumer electronics, in conjunction with NFC proximity devices. NTAG213 is designed to fully comply with NFC Forum Type 2 Tag specifications (Ref. 2) and ISO/IEC14443 Type A (Ref. 1) specifications. The internal memory is already formatted according to the NFC standard to accommodate NDEF messages. The reference applications for NTAG213 include out-of-home and smart advertising, SoLoMo social applications, product authentication, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi pairing, shelf NFC tags, and mobile tags. The NTAG213 memory can also be segmented to implement multiple applications within the same tag. Due to high integration, NTAG213 is particularly suitable for applications that require small surfaces without compromising on performance. Small NFC tags can be more easily integrated, for example, into product labels or electronic devices. Communication with the NTAG213 tag is established by connecting it to an antenna. When NTAG213 is in the RF field, the high-speed RF communication interface allows data transmission at a transmission speed of 106 kbit/s. The maximum communication distance, depending on the antenna's geometry, can reach up to 10 cm. The chip's unique identification is done through a 7-byte UID. The internal EEPROM memory of 180 bytes is organized into 45 pages of 4 bytes, of which 36 pages, equaling 144 bytes, are free for user read and write operations. The memory can be rewritten up to 100,000 times and retain data for up to 10 years.
