Chip functions TK4100 is powered by an external coil in an alternating magnetic field and obtains the clock through one of the two contacts. The other contact of the coil turns the modulation current on and off; the chip sends 64 bits of information from its pre-programmed memory during manufacturing. In the TK4100 chip, data is modulated and transmitted with Manchester-encoded formatting. Chip programming is done with fusion lasers on polysilicon to store a unique code on each chip. The continuous output data string contains 9 leading 1 values, 40 bits, 14 parity bits, and 1 stop bit. No buffer capacitor is required because the control logic has very low power consumption. Only one external coil is needed to operate the chip. The parallel resonance capacitor of 74 pF is integrated into the chip.
